about

Electric West's long-time engineer, Joseph Calleiro, has joined the band and lends his guitar sorcery to "Power Lines," as well as the Electric West's forthcoming EP and full-length album. Calleiro joined following their tour to Pacific Northwest, where discoveries were made and immediate action was taken. The new lineup brings the old 2015 sound back to life, and presses forward to great new lengths.

lyrics

"When we've crashed and burned, we'll owe it all to the racists and the stubborn and the ignorant, or all the gun enthusiasts and other idiots. Now there's nowhere left for us to go. Now there's nothing left so we'll make the most of it like ghosts on stereos. We never realized that we don't need power lines. And if you go we'll go. We're independent, though, from your grid, from your computer, from your source code. If you need us, you can find us. Turn on safe mode. Now there's nowhere left for us to go. Now there's nothing left so we'll make the most of it like ghosts on stereos. We never realized that we don't need power lines. We'll make the most of it like ghosts on stereos. We never realized that we don't need power lines. Let's go below the fold. We're dead, we're dead, you're safe below the fold. You're safe below the power lines."

2013, The Electric West formed in Echo Park with the goal of pummeling dance beats, punctuated melodies and sympathetic crooning. The duo of Byron Pagdilao, Lee Lewallen, with the help of friends, alternates currents of contemporary political angst and a cold, metallic stare at our nation’s past. Intensely charged, The Electric West channels gripping themes to create a vibrant post punk sound. ... more
